I watched this on DVD under the new name “Strike!” just for kicks and actually did enjoy it. It’s basically another Dodgeball/Blackball type of strange sports comedy.As far as the guy that would rather bleed to death…he only watched the first half hour which is what got me hooked on the movie. Oscarz Pizza and all of it’s little quirks (see for yourself) was hilarious! The league matches montage was worth a few good laughs too. I’m not sure what this guy was watching, but if he had a sense of humor he should have enjoyed it…oh…and he called Life Free or Die Hard “Fantastic” and “Refreshing”…If you liked National Lampoon’s Blackball, Dodgeball, Grandma’s Boy etc. etc. you ought to enjoy this movie.

The plot is simple but still extraordinary: There is a couple. One day the wife leaves her husband in favor of a lover, she met online, and demands to be freed from life. The lover makes the husband explain himself.Beside the three main characters there is a female psychologist, giving the audience just a glimpse at her judgment on the wife. Instead, a great deal of care was taken over the development and the directing of the three different personality profiles, to justify the main character’s behaviors. And well, thanks to convincing performances, for me it worked quite perfect!The imagery and the score of the film is excellent, very subtle and keeping the audience away from too much awfulness, still not hiding anything.However, it clearly feels like an artificial story, even it might be inspired by some various true events. Life usually is not as simple as this. But hey, that’s why we watch movies, isn’t it? ;)I voted with 10, because such a story could not get any better realization. It’s perfect.

The Alphabet Killer

Eliza Dushku (Megan Paige) was simply distracting. The film was dull with terribly stereotypical characters. Simple as that.i just lost interest in the film. I honestly don’t understand how other reviews hype Eliza’s performance as ‘amazing.’ I was not impressed. Unfortunately, the only memorable piece of the film was her bland, unconvincing, portrayal of the lead role. She seemed confused, and noticeably self-conscious throughout the film. She is a very pretty girl, and maybe she has chops, but i’m still not confident she does yet.If you’re looking for a run-of-the-mill serial killer flick and you are easily drawn into stories despite sub-par acting.. This film may be a decent couple hours of mindless entertainment. If you are looking for anything else…. Im afraid you will not find it in this movie.
